UCSF Pediatric Physical Therapy Clinic provides physical therapy for babies, children and teens through age 18 with mobility or functional issues related to developmental delays, illness or injury. Therapists create individualized treatment plans that may include strength and range-of-motion exercises, gait and functional-mobility training, neuromuscular reeducation, casting, splinting, taping, and crutch-use instruction. The clinic uses a family-centered approach and teaches parents and caregivers how to help their child walk, move and play safely. Services are available in clinic and hospital settings, and the team can collaborate with occupational therapists, speech-language therapists and other pediatric specialists.
