Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and StarzMeet (“StarzMeet”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) governing your access to and use of the website at starzmeet.com and any related services (the “Site”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account or submit content. By using the Site, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements and that all information you provide is accurate.

2. Definitions

  • “Content” means any text, images, listings, reviews, and other material available on the Site.
  • “User Content” means Content submitted by users, including providers.
  • “Provider” means a business or professional listed in the directory.

3. What StarzMeet is (and is not)

StarzMeet is an informational directory of autism-related services in Silicon Valley. We help families discover providers and general information. We are not a healthcare provider, referral service, or professional advisor, and we do not provide medical, clinical, psychological, legal, or professional advice. A listing on StarzMeet is not an endorsement, recommendation, referral, or verification of any Provider’s qualifications, licensure, quality, or safety. Please read our Disclaimer.

4. No verification or endorsement

We compile listings from information submitted by users and from publicly available sources. We do not independently verify the credentials, licensure, insurance, quality, or safety of any Provider. You are solely responsible for independently evaluating and verifying any Provider before engaging their services.

5. Accounts and registration

To access certain features you may need to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it updated. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. User Content and license

You retain ownership of the User Content you submit. By submitting User Content, you grant StarzMeet a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that User Content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Site. You represent that you have the rights necessary to grant this license and that your User Content does not violate any law or third-party right.

7. Acceptable use policy

You agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, defamatory, obscene, harassing, hateful, or unlawful content;
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation;
  • Submit fake, incentivized, or manipulated reviews;
  • Collect, scrape, or harvest data from the Site at scale or by automated means without our written permission;
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or its systems;
  • Upload viruses or malicious code; or
  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.

8. Provider listings and claims

Listings may be created from public business information or submitted by users and Providers. If you are a Provider, you may claim, correct, or request removal of your listing. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you submit or claim. We may edit, refuse, or remove any listing at our discretion, including inaccurate, duplicate, or policy-violating listings.

9. Reviews and ratings

Reviews must reflect genuine, first-hand experiences and comply with this acceptable use policy. Reviews are the opinions of their authors and do not represent the views of StarzMeet. We may moderate, edit, refuse, or remove reviews that we believe are fraudulent, abusive, conflicted, or in violation of these Terms.

10. Intellectual property

The Site and its original Content, features, functionality, and branding are owned by StarzMeet or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for User Content and content you are permitted to use, you may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written permission.

11. Copyright policy (DMCA)

We respect intellectual-property rights and respond to notices of alleged infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”). If you believe your work has been used on the Site in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, send a written notice to our designated agent at info@starzmeet.com that includes: (i) your physical or electronic signature; (ii) identification of the copyrighted work; (iii) identification of the material claimed to be infringing and its location; (iv) your contact information; (v) a statement of good-faith belief that the use is not authorized; and (vi) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act. We may remove allegedly infringing material and terminate repeat infringers.

12. Third-party links and services

The Site may contain links to third-party websites and services that we do not own or control. We are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices, and your use of them is at your own risk.

13. Fees

Use of the Site is currently free for families and Providers. We may introduce optional paid features in the future; if we do, we will present the applicable terms and pricing before you incur any charge.

14. Disclaimers of warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT LISTINGS OR OTHER CONTENT ARE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, RELIABLE, CURRENT, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR SECURE.

15. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STARZMEET AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SITE OR YOUR ENGAGEMENT WITH ANY PROVIDER FOUND THROUGH IT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless StarzMeet and its owners, operators, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Site, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.

17. Dispute resolution; governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree that any dispute not subject to arbitration will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Where permitted, the parties agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting info@starzmeet.com. To the extent the parties agree to arbitration, such arbitration will be conducted on an individual basis, and you and StarzMeet waive any right to participate in a class action. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking relief in small-claims court.

18. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without cause or notice. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

20. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and StarzMeet regarding the Site. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them freely. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
